My client is a well respected and reputable renewable energy Utility that is a dominant force internationally, they provide energy to the North American and European communities. They are involved in a large number of renewable energy projects internationally and are currently expanding their wind energy team.


Position Overview:
My client is looking to recruit a Vice President of Sales to oversee their wind industry sales operations in the North American market. This position will require managing a team from home and afar while still working closely with the senior sales managers in regions across the USA. The Vice President of Sales will be reporting directly to the Head of Wind and will be key part of their continued growth in the market.

Responsibilities:-

  • Overseeing and manage the entire sales team in North America
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans, forecasts and performance goals to achieve corporate objectives for the sales teams
  • Develop and recommend product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share
  • Demonstrate ability to lead Sales team towards results
  • Manage performance of sales management and representative organizations
  • Oversee monthly sales forecasts and sales strategies for each region
  • Establishing a long-term business platform in North America, with a focus on  the USA market Responsibility for sales activities and strategy developments throughout
  • You will oversee that negotiations of terms and conditions with developers and manufacturers
  • Direct their turbine sales operation in Europe and work closely with the international team to best expand my clients growth across Europe
  • You will manage a team of top level sales managers who will be working independently on a variety of projects
  • You will oversee the bid processes for a large number of projects overseeing the entire negotiations and contract process that your senior sales managers are involved in
  • You will oversee the negotiations of long and complex bids and contract negotiations  
  • You will ensure that the senior sales managers are achieving their targets of securing multi million ($) contracts
  • You will focus on multiple projects with the ability to manage individuals who are working independently and do not require micro-management

Education:-

Must have and exceptional educational background.

Core Requirements:-

  • You will have 10 – 15 years sales experience, with a proven track record in renewable energy, oil & gas or power generation  sectors
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 5-8 years sales and busines development expereince in the wind industry
  • You must have overseen contract negotiations of large scale ($multi million)
  • You must have a proven ability and temperament to work on long term contracts
  • An excellent understanding of regulatory requirements in the wind industry
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure and deliver high quality results
  • Ability to manage multiple large scale project

General Requirements:-

  • Ability to travel across the USA and internationally
  • Proficient with making impactful presentations and managing a team of high level employees
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in an environment of constantly changing priorities
  • Excellent ability to communicate and work in English is a must
  • Ability to work independently but within tightly controlled business policie

 

Key Skills:-

Onshore Offshore Wind, Energy, renewable energy, oil & gas, construction and/or power generation experience , negotiations experience, business development, sales of wind turbines or large wind projects, exceptional team leadership skills, experience with complex contact negotiations and complex stakeholder and customer management experience.
