Overview
Evergreen’s Vancouver team is looking for an experienced project manager with urban ecology and event delivery experience to manage and expand their urban ecology program.  Reporting to the Regional Program Manager, the project manager will be focusing on ecological stewardship and restoration work in the Still Creek watershed, as well as a variety of public and corporate planting and invasive removal events across the city.
Key Responsibilities

Manage Delivery of Urban Ecology Projects
• Identify priority sites and develop management plans for restoration
• Plan, deliver, and lead engaging planting and invasive removal events for the public
• Plan and implement educational workshops in local schools and the public to increase
engagement and participation in stewardship
• Develop evaluation tools to assess impact, and improve delivery of urban ecology projects
• Write grant proposals and funder reports for urban ecology projects as required

Develop and Manage Urban Ecology Social Enterprise Activities

• Plan, deliver, and facilitate engaging planting and invasive removal events for corporate audiences
• Track costs associated with each event to improve pricing and profitability
• Improve event content, delivery, and follow-up to increase impact, customer retention, and donor cultivation with the Vancouver development team

Oversee Project Communications & Outreach
• Build and maintain strong municipal and other partnerships, working collaboratively to identify high need sites, develop work plans, and organize event logistics
• Develop outreach & marketing materials including posters, brochures, signage and newsletters  in collaboration with Evergreen’s communication department
• Outreach to community groups and agencies, including those serving multicultural communities, youth-at-risk, and schools
• Marketing to corporate groups to increase the number of planting events delivered through our social enterprise

Manage Human Resources

• Hire, train, and manage a group of contract staff who are available to deliver weekend planting and invasive removal events in Vancouver and across the province
• Train and coach volunteers and conduct recruitment & appreciation activities

Qualifications
• College or university level education in a relevant discipline
• Experience working on invasive species removal, water quality monitoring, and site restoration with plants native to BC
• 2+ years Project Management experience, including managing staff and volunteers
• Experience developing and implementing interpretive events and socio-environmental workshops for a variety of audiences
• Experience writing funder reports, and developing proposals
• A valid driver’s license

Assets

• Previous experience with environmental or community program delivery
• Previous experience working with or within corporate groups, youth, new Canadians, and/or Aboriginal People.
• Familiarity with government funding and reporting requirements, particularly Environment Canada funding streams
• First Aid & CPR Certification

Working conditions:
• This position often delivers outside programming; individual must be able to work outdoors in a range of weather conditions.
• Position involves a significant amount of physical tasks including loading and unloading tools, plants and equipment. A basic level of physical fitness is required
• Programs may include working with youth or vulnerable populations, a police records check may be required.
• Position often involves weekend work with some evenings required. Work hours are variable.
• Travel across the province may also be required.
