Upper Thames Tributaries Development Manager

Salary: £28,800

Contract: Full-time, Fixed term (2 year 6 month contract)

Based: Oxfordshire Upper Thames reserves and HQ, Littlemore, Oxford  

The Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wildlife Trust is a membership-based voluntary organisation, managing over 80 nature reserves, influencing land management and educating and encouraging all sectors of the community to care for local wildlife.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced environmental manager to develop and promote the Trust’s aspirations for landscape scale conservation and habitat restoration in the Upper Thames region. BBOWT has a long history of reserve acquisition and landowner liaison to effect wildlife conservation within the Upper Thames catchment. As Upper Thames Tributaries Development Manager you will scope and progress the next stage of this work by working closely with key sector partners and other stakeholders to identify opportunities and achieve significant biodiversity gains.

The successful applicant will be familiar with current thinking on landscape scale ecological restoration, government conservation policies and the ecosystem services approach to valuing biodiversity. You will be keen to play a key role in the success of the project, and demonstrate an obvious enthusiasm for wildlife and the natural environment.
