This is an exciting opportunity to manage a team of motivated specialists involved in environmental and climate regulation, policy support and implementation. While a knowledge of one or more of the policy areas covered by the Unit is important, we are also looking for strong leadership and management skills to manage staff working on a wide range of interesting and evolving areas. The work of the team includes:

• Providing close support to Scottish Government colleagues on decarbonisation regulation such as the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS), the UK Carbon Reduction Commitment Energy Efficiency Scheme (CRC) Fluorinated Gases (F-gas) and Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS) regulations and the Energy Saving Opportunities Scheme (ESOS)
• Providing internal and external support and advice on industrial and decarbonisation policy and regulation.
• Supporting and influencing the development and implementation of industrial regulation policy
