Within Ecofys, the Unit Power Systems and Markets with teams in Berlin (Germany) and Corvallis (Oregon, US) focuses on the specific challenges related to integration of renewable energy in electric power systems and markets. Our interdisciplinary expert team consists of power system engineers, economists and market specialists with extensive international experience. In our projects we deal with technical, regulatory and commercial issues related to sustainable electricity supply in a changing environment. To lead our international activities in this field we are looking for an experienced leader of people, with the commercial knowledge and competencies to grow our business in this area.
As a Unit Manager Power Systems & Markets you are responsible for the development of an international strategy, the deployment of this strategy and the financial results of this Unit within Ecofys. You will strengthen the market position of the Unit and contribute to the front running ambitions of Ecofys. You have an overall responsibility for the people in your unit and for the quality of work, supported by the technical experts in the Unit. Our preferred candidate will be based in Berlin (Germany) or Corvallis (Oregon, US) with the main teams and must be willing to travel. We would also consider candidates for our other offices in Utrecht, London and Cologne.
Your profile

- University degree;
- 7 years or more of relevant working experience (managing position within consultancy business, utility energy company or governmental energy department);
- Comprehensive understanding of international developments and opportunities related to the integration of renewable energy in electric power systems and markets;
- Ability to steer project managers of large and complex projects;
- Strong commercially oriented approach and business skills in identifying and exploiting opportunities in a competitive market;
- An existing network in the relevant field and good knowledge of potential partners/competitors or the ability to quickly have an overview of the market and its opportunities is essential;
- Excellent English language skills and ability to work in English.
