Our HSE team consists of experienced consultants, supporting our client’s world wide in managing their environmental and health & safety liabilities. We focus on renewable energy developments and projects, often with an innovation or business development aspect in it. Our clients are corporate clients, project developers, contractors, energy utilities and governments. Ecofys has developed a unique approach for HSE management in the market of renewable energy. We are looking for a seasoned unit manager who will lead our international activities in the HSE field, who excels in people leadership and commercial skills to develop at high speed our business, materializing in strong profitable growth. As the Unit Manager you are globally responsible for the development, deployment and execution of the HSE strategy business plan and financial results. You will strengthen the market position of the Unit and contribute to the front running ambitions of Ecofys. Our candidate will preferably be based in our Utrecht office and is willing to travel. You will report to the Renewable Energy Division Director.

Your profile
If you are enthusiastic about the job described above and you meet the following criteria, then we are happy to meet you!
  • University degree in a technical field, with additional relevant courses;
  • 10 years or more of relevant work experience (managing position within consultancy business, utility, energy company or governmental energy department);
  • Track record in managing knowledge workers and leading diverse, multi disciplinary, international teams;
  • Comprehensive understanding of the global market, developments and opportunities in the area of HSE-management;
  • Relevant experience and background in HSE-management, preferably focused on renewable energy projects;
  • Track record of leading large and complex projects, with the ability to steer both professionals and the content;
  • Outstanding commercial skills and business acumen. An existing network and expertise in the areas of renewable energy and HSE management field. Good knowledge of potential partners and competitors;
  • Excellent English language skills and ability to work in English. German or French language skills are considered a bonus.
