As Kew’s UK Native Seed Hub (UKNSH) Project Co-ordinator you will help deliver RBG Kew’s mission by contributing to RBG Kew’s Breathing Planet Programme strategies 5 (seed banking), 6 (restoration ecology) and 7 (public awareness). 

You will co-ordinate the activities of a cross departmental team based at Wakehurst Place responsible for delivering the annual targets of the UKNSH, one of the strategic priorities for the Millennium Seed Bank Partnershipand Wakehurst Place. You will contribute to strategic planning and seek new business opportunities by networking with government departments, NGO’s, conservation and restoration organisations, and the commercial sector and you will provide professional and technical advice to clients and collaborators who use products and services of the UKNSH. Your efforts will contribute to restoring the UK’s ecological network through the provision of high quality seed stocks, professional and technical advice and support services to the commercial seed sector.

You will also co-ordinate the production of an online trading platform, website and other media products to promote UKNSH services, handle enquiries and increase public awareness.


Essentials: 
You will have knowledge and working experience of UK plant diversity and plant ecology. A relevant science degree or equivalent academic qualification and experience of working in the environment sector including the provision of plant-based ecological advice is essential. You will possess project management and team-working skills and be customer focused.

Your excellent written communication and analytical skills will be needed to produce accurate technical reports and business plans. 

Your influencing and negotiation skillswill be key to this role, especially in stakeholder and business management meetings. You will have excellent face to face communication and presentation skills and will be able to provide high quality technical advice to clients and collaborators.
