Reporting to the UK Country Manager, the Commercial Officer has a core support role within the UK commercial team. Utilising his/her organisational and communication skills, the post holder contributes to a diverse range of activities to promote the MSC's mission and contribute to the successful working of the Commercial Team. With support, he/she will be responsible for expanding the Fish & Kids project by providing information and explaining the process of participation to local authorities and schools interested in the project. The Commercial Officer will provide assistance to various team members specifically in support of the UK foodservice sector, offering an opportunity to become familiar with the wide ranging roles of the commercial team, including outreach to independent restaurants, universities and other clients as required. The Commercial Officer ensures that commercial enquiries from a range of stakeholders are dealt with promptly and consults with/includes the appropriate MSC commercial team member in any communication. Duties supporting team members will be a responsibility of this role, including but not limited to; helping to organise and attending events; distributing MSC resources; arranging travel and accommodation. General team administration and support will include a diverse range of tasks may be required periodically. A good general knowledge of sustainable development and a strong interest in sustainable seafood plus an interest in promoting the development of the MSC through working with key stakeholders in the commercial arena will ensure that there is potential for growth within the organisation.
