Tropical Forest Financing Officer

This position is intended to provide high-level, practical forest financing expertise, including carbon and management support, for major tropical forest conservation initiatives being implemented by the RSPB together with its partners.  Working collaboratively, you will drive the development of REDDiness projects and carbon financing in some of our tropical forests from the design and supervision of field surveys to accreditation. You will be the point of contact with relevant accreditation agencies, consultants and donors.You will be a good communicator and have a strong scientific background, ideally having practical experience of tropical forest financing. You should have good knowledge of the latest developments in forest finance, the voluntary carbon markets and REDD+.

Based in our UK Headquarters in Sandy, Bedfordshire, UK the role will involve extensive/extended travel to West Africa, Indonesia and other locations as required.
