We have a longstanding and positive working relationship with a large number of Council Departments, Council Controlled Organisations and Network Utility Operators, as well as a wide range of companies, developers, and individual members of the public. We deliver our consultancy services with professionalism and integrity in a manner that underpins GreensceneNZ’s core proposition of ‘enhancing and protecting living environments.’ We now wish to add to our consultancy team and invite applications for the following position: Tree Health Care Specialist We seek an enthusiastic individual to join our friendly team based in Mt Eden, Auckland. As a small company, this individual will be given an opportunity to gain experience in a wide variety of projects from a tree management perspective.

The successful candidate will work autonomously within the Arboriculture team and also with employees of the wider company as and when opportunities arise. As a Tree Health Care Specialist you will contribute to, and be responsible for: * Planning and undertaking tree surveys, assessments and investigations. * Using investigative equipment, e.g. Resistograph, Penetrometer, pH Meter, etc. * Identification of tree health issues, e.g. structural and pathogenic, with a view to reaching a diagnosis (in association with our preferred laboratories). * Technical report writing based on investigation findings and associated research. * Writing Tree Management Plans. * Writing Arboricultural Assessments and undertaking monitoring of associated works in relation to proposed development projects. * Provision of professional arboricultural advice to Council, private contractors and property owners with respect to tree health and technical arboricultural issues. * Maintenance of existing client and associate relationships. * Generation of new business through the identification of potential new business development avenues. Candidate Specification Essential: A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject, e.g. Plant Pathology, Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Environmental Science, Plant Physiology, Biology. * Confident and commercially minded with excellent people skills. * Sound field skills and tree assessment experience. * Sound knowledge of dendrology. * Report writing skills to a high standard. * Ability to work autonomously and take responsibility for quality of deliverables and meeting deadlines. * Ability to use the Microsoft Office suite. * A full/valid NZ/International Drivers licence. * Legally able to live and work in New Zealand, or potentially fulfil the requirements to do so. Desirable: * Knowledge of the Resource Management Act 1991 and District and Regional Plans. * Good tree identification skills with knowledge of NZ tree species. * Experience of carrying out aerial tree inspections using a rope and harness. * Experience with GIS and tree management software.
