Overview:

ZSL is looking for a Transboundary Tiger Project Coordinator to help ensure that ZSL’s project, in particular the transboundary tiger project in South and Central Asia meet both goals and donor requirements, by providing technical support to staff managing a suite of projects. Typically, these tasks might include workflow management, monitoring workplans, compilation of reports, completion of records in the ZSL projects database, contribution to reports, and contribution towards development of funding proposals. 

The key focus of this London based position will be the technical coordination and support to assist timely reporting against the IUCN KfW project transboundary tiger project. The post-holder will be integral in facilitating communications and coordinating the completion of tasks between ZSL offices in London and the Country Programme in Nepal.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the project managers in tracking project activities to ensure that deliverables are achieved according to the grant contract, work-plan and budget.
  • Work closely with the HR team to co-ordinate the necessary HR and contract related tasks as required such as chasing authorisation for recruitment requests and contract renewals.
  • Maintain the programme calendar, organise project meetings and workshops, prepares materials, and takes and produces minutes /meeting reports.
  • Source, procure, catalogue and track equipment and materials to support projects; the post-holder works with in-country teams to maintain accurate inventories of equipment and supplies.
  • Work with project manager(s) to ensure that monthly reports are prepared and submitted, and that project information on the ZSL Projects Database, CP Asia tracking systems, and ZSL website is kept up to date; as well, the post-holder will be responsible for accurate filing and storage of all relevant documents.
  • Support project managers in the production of promotional materials, including web-related, and fundraising proposals for the project(s) as needed.
  • Support project manager(s) in the compilation of technical and financial reports to donors (and any ad hoc special reports) to satisfy ZSL or donor requirements.

Person Specification:

Ideally, the successful candidate will:

  • Be educated to bachelor degree or equivalent qualification in relevant discipline or have equivalent level of work experience.
  • Have prior experience in coordinating conservation or development projects is desirable, particularly experience in project management.
  • Have sound knowledge of relevant conservation issues in South Asia
  • Have an understanding of compiling technical and financial reports.
  • Be familiar with coordinating projects and communicating with multiple stakeholders.
  • Be proficient using software, including MS office packages, and have the ability to source and learn new software
  • Be independently driven and able to show initiative; with strong administrative skills.
  • Strong written and spoken.
  • Have excellent inter-personal, presentation, time and organisational management skills.
