The Student Conservation Association (SCA), America’s #1 conservation service organization seeks a Training Specialist to preferably be placed in Charlestown, NH.   Provides specialized expertise across programs to ensure consistency in training and content delivery and assure high quality and safe programming for all members and staff. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as training expert across program structure by developing, implementing, teaching and evaluating training modules for SCA staff and members.
  • Serve as expert in conservation science and / or youth development trainings.
  • Provide consistent conservation curriculum for all programs with tailoring for distinct audiences developed to maximize effectiveness of delivery and learning
  • Maintain current knowledge of programs, training methods and educational design through ongoing professional development.
  • Develop ideas for continuous improvement of SCA training for members, leaders and staff
  • Serve as Duty Officer for SCA programs

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience in training development, design, and delivery required.  Bachelor’s degree in education, conservation, or youth development preferred.
  • Excellent training presentation and demonstration skills required.
  • Demonstrated curriculum development experience.
  • Ability to connect with varied audiences for effective communication and engagement a must.
  • Knowledge of conservation, work skills and/or outdoor skills preferred
  • Strong MSOffice skills required (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Ability to work well as part of a team as well as independently
  • Wilderness First Responder certification highly preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with MVR that meets SCA standards required
  • Must pass SCA criminal background check
  • Willingness to travel nationally (15 – 20%) required
