Training and Peer review college officer

Introduction

MSC operates a global fisheries certification and ecolabelling programme. We celebrate, promote and add value to sustainable fisheries and through the leadership of our partners, create market incentives to encourage other fisheries to improve the way they fish the oceans. Over 300 fisheries around the world, landing 12% of the annual global harvest, are now engaged at some stage of the MSC’s independent assessment process. MSC certified and labelled seafood products are now available in over 100 countries.

Information on the role

The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) works to safeguard the world’s seafood supply by promoting the best environmental choice in seafood to the consumer through the use of its logo. The organisation is recognised internationally as a ground breaking and credible solution to the serious environmental problem of overfishing.

We have a really exciting opportunity for a Training and Peer Reviewer College Officer to join the Research and Credibility team in our London Head office. Reporting to the Training and Credibility Manager, this post is a key position within the Standards Team. You will contribute to the Standards training programme to ensure the competency of certifiers and MSC personnel and the management of the peer review college to further enhance the credibility of the MSC’s fishery assessment process.
