Training & Tradeshow Coordinator

Job Summary

Join one of the premier Solar Distributors in North America and work as an understudy to one of the top industry training professionals on all aspects of solar training and trade show activities.

• Position reports to Director of Training and Tradeshow.
• Position to be located in Chandler, AZ.
• The job will involve 25-60% travel throughout the US and Canada, must have valid US passport.
• Job will involve assisting Director of Training in his home office and at training/tradeshow events throughout North America.
• Applicant must provide home office for occasional unsupervised work from home. Internet and phone service will be provided.

Tradeshow Responsibilities Include:

• Submitting application/order forms and arranging payment for booth space, drayage, material handling, electrical service, booth labor, etc.
• Coordinating all paperwork necessary for shipping including labels, bill of lading, etc.
• Interacting with tradeshow reps to make logistical arrangements.
• Assisting with and in some cases supervising the setting up and tearing down of tradeshow booth and packing supplies for shipping.
• Heavy physical activity including lifting very heavy loads (50 - 100 #) over your head.
• Packing and unpacking tradeshow demos, samples, displays, booth structure.
• Organizing tradeshow displays at warehouse and storage lockers in Phoenix area including occasional work outdoors in the summer heat.
• Staffing booth during tradeshows including scanning badges, answering technical and training program questions, and networking with suppliers.

Training Responsibilities Include:

• Getting quotes and booking training room space with hotels, conference centers, etc.
• Contacting supplier reps and industry partners to arrange guest speakers, sample products, literature, etc...
• Traveling to training venues and setting up room for training event and tearing down, packing up, and shipping out supplies after completion of event.
• Registering attendees and managing computer databases with training attendee information.
• Interacting with training attendees, answering questions, and operating as an ambassador for AEE Solar.

Attributes of the Ideal Candidate:

• Background in sales and marketing of technical products.
• Experience with working with distribution.
• Experience with coordination of tradeshows and training events
• Technical degree and/or experience with solar or other electrical/mechanical products.
• Strong proficiency with MS Office applications including Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel, MS Word, and web based software.
• Group speaking and technical presentation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to convey technical concepts in a concise manner.
