The Student Conservation Association (SCA), America’s #1 conservation service organization seeks a Trail Corps Program Director in our Conservation Corps Department based in Boise, ID. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintains overall responsibility and accountability for the success, quality and risk management of the Trails corps program area
  • Ensure the sustainability of current projects and leads the effort to develop new program opportunities
  • Supervises Program Managers and Program Coordinators associated with the western corps program
  • Provide oversight and guidance for the responsible development and management of program budgets

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree with specific major in field of endeavor or relevant additional coursework related to the specific field with 2 or more years of related experience required -- or
  • 4 -6 years of progressively responsible experience including skills related to the position such as program management, leadership in an outdoor setting and experience working with programmatic partners required
  • Demonstrated program management success, including familiarity with budget creation and tracking
  • Demonstrated team leadership and/or supervisory experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a highly mobile, fast paced team
  • Strong computer skills particularly in MS Office
  • Willingness to travel on a regular basis
  • Current Wilderness First Responder/Aid and CPR certification
  • Valid driver’s license and MVR that meets SCA standards required
  • Ability to meet SCA’s criminal background check standards
