Description
1.    Need to be outgoing and motivated with great interpersonal abilities
2.    You must have knowledge of the areas you are running tours thus study and research of unfamiliar areas will be necessary.
3.    The general principal/theme behind our tours is nature so the more you learn about or are interested in nature the better we will be at achieving our goals.
4.    Promotion and marketing of tours within Nicaragua and overseas will be an aspect of the role as we will need to get the word out there of what we are doing.
5.    Need to have a genuine interest in the peoples and environment of Nicaragua and developing countries.
6.    Willing to work any day of the week at any hour. Due to variability of the tourism industry you may have a Tuesday off instead of the traditional Sunday. In the high season tours may be running seven days per week.
7.    Ability to show initiative within all aspects of work, sharing ideas and input throughout every aspect of the job.
8.    All preparation will ultimately fall down to you. This will include equipment care, food preparation and ensuring numbers, payment and location of persons before tours.
9.    Budget – you will be given a budget according to needs for the tours etc. It will be your responsibility to stay within the budget and write up budget after tour.
10.    Safety – Ensure you are familiar with health and safety plans for different areas we are visiting. This includes keeping the basic medical kit up to date and emergency numbers and phone up to date.
11.    A major part of being a tour guide with us will be working as part of a team. Your principal role will be as a guide but helping each other out and working together is really important to a well functioning team and business.
12.    Volcano boarding – You will have to learn and run volcano boarding tours as part of your job as tour guide with us. Actually this is one of the first things you will have to learn, as this will be our core tour for some time to come. We run these tours up to seven days a week.
13.    Driver’s licence is not necessary but would be helpful.
14.    We need a commitment of three months or Longer if possible. As we are starting from scratch we hope to grow and keep adding new tours and ideas as we go along thus having someone longer term would work better for us. However as the tourism business is seasonal we can appreciate that it gets boring at times.

What we offer:

1.    First month we are offering free food and accommodation without payment. This will be a learning and trial period for both sides.
2.    After the first month you will receive payment on a commission basis.
3.    After first month food and drink will be provided during tours but everything else you consume at the bar or café, you will have to pay 50% of menu price.
4.    Accommodation is provided.
5.    A great environment to live and work, having interaction with both locals and foreign culture.
6.    Opportunity to be part of what we hope will be a fresh new tour company in a beautiful country.
