Are you passionate about young people and keen to play a pivotal role in our open access service leading on early intervention and prevention to improve the mental wellbeing of children and young people across the London Borough of Southwark?

Groundwork London works with communities across the capital to transform their lives and the places they live. We have been at the forefront of social and environmental regeneration in London for over 25 years, and today we have a simple mission: to create better places, improve people’s prospects, and promote greener living and working. We are passionate about creating a future where every neighbourhood is vibrant and green, every community is strong and able to shape its own destiny, and no-one is held back by their background or circumstance.

The Nest is Groundwork London’s mental wellbeing support service for young people aged 0 – 25 and living in the London Borough of Southwark. Since launching as a remote service in May of 2020, right in the midst of the Covid-19 Pandemic, The Nest has gone from strength to strength and we are looking for an experienced, dynamic and driven therapist to take on the role of Wellbeing Coach and help deliver our The Nest + programme

Funded by The Prudence Trust and delivered by Groundwork London through The Nest, The Nest + will see the service establishing pop-up sites in a minimum of six new locations across the London Borough of Southwark to increase the ease and accessibility of mental health support for young people aged 11 – 24.

Delivered with the support of a team manager and clinical lead, this programme will see therapeutic support delivered across multiple settings and in various formats, from drop-ins in GP surgeries to group work and 1-2-1 support in youth centres and churches.

Please contact us if you have:

  • Relevant therapeutic training, e.g. counselling, art psychotherapy, etc.
  • Experience in undertaking assessment, formulation, risk assessment and safety planning
  • Experience in holding a caseload of service users
  • Confidence in working independently across various settings with young people
  • Knowledge and understanding of the barriers young people face when accessing support
  • Awareness of working to safeguard children and vulnerable adults, including relevant training
