Stop Climate Chaos Coalition: African Climate Connection South West Mobiliser

Do you know the climate campaigning scene in the South West? Are you happy talking to people, publicising events and networking with a range of local organisations? Do you want experience working with many of the UK’s major organisations to mobilise activists?

After the success of the Big Climate Connection last autumn, and our recent Big Climate Reconnection in spring, next up is the African Climate Connection. Taking place during the UN climate talks (COP17) in South Africa at the end of November, the African Climate Connection will be a series of local events encouraging local groups to connect with each other and with the climate talks.

We are looking for a mobiliser to help build on the local campaigning networks that have been formed in the South West, through this exciting new Climate Connection.

The South West mobiliser will liaise with and support constituency coordinators across the South West helping them get a diverse range of groups involved, recruit coordinators in target constituencies and feed back to the central coordinators.

The position will be based in the RSPB Exeter office. Working 1-2 days/ week, you will be working alongside six other regional mobilisers and many of the UK’s major organisations working on climate change, to mobilise people across the country to organise events in their communities.

You’ll have support from the central coordinators and you will join the other regional mobilisers on a regular teleconference, so you’ll be able to see what an amazing effect you are having together!
