Salary: £26,000 to £30,000 per annum pro rata
Contract length: Until June 2016 (17.5 hrs per week)
Location: Based in Central London
Responsible to: Senior Programmes Manager
Close liaison with: Job share partner
Thames21 is the leading waterway charity in London. The charity is a vibrant and growing organisation with over 20 staff, one office located in Central London with a second office in East London. This dynamic and rapidly developing charity is looking for a new member of the team to job share the role of Thames River Watch Programme Coordinator.
Purpose of the job
Thames River Watch (TRW) trains and supports a network of volunteers to carry out water quality testing, surveying and monitoring of the River Thames’ natural environment. Volunteer participants, with the assistance of Thames21, identify river stretches and locations to monitor and their data is entered into an online data recording and mapping tool viewable by the general public. An annual Big Count will analyse the data and discuss the results and its implications with the volunteers and wider public.
The responsibilities of the full time post have now been divided into three sections:-
1.Shared Responsibilities
2.Communications, Outreach and Education
3.Data and monitoring capital and training
