The Hobatere area is situated in north-western Namibia, on the western boundary of Etosha National Park. Hobatere contains most of the wildlife species occurring in neighbouring Etosha National Park, including elephant, lion, eland, giraffe, black-faced impala and mountain zebra. It is possible that black rhino may be introduced in the future. The recently tarred C35 road passes directly adjacent the concession area.
The Ehi-rovipuka Conservancy has been awarded a 20-year head concession contract for the Hobatere Roadside Tourism Lodge Concession by the Ministry of Environment and Tourism (MET). The Ehi-rovipuka Conservancy, assisted by MET, now seeks proposals from private parties to help develop and implement the concession. Interested parties are required to pre-qualify for the tender process by submitting expressions of interest in the required format. Only pre-qualified parties will be invited to submit full proposals.
Description of concession: The concession consists of the right to develop up to 30 guest rooms and 10 camping sites, as well as the necessary supporting infrastructure within a concession area of approximately 4,974ha. The concession includes access to a traversing area inside Etosha National Park.
Pre-qualification documents are available from: 3 Ruhr Street, Northern Industrial Area, Windhoek, Namibia
