The Student Conservation Association (SCA), America’s #1 conservation service organization seeks a Temporary Recruiter in our Marketing Department based out of our NYC.
Recruitment of students (high school and college aged) for a portfolio of programs related to hurricane Sandy restoration in NYC with a special emphasis on diversity. Develops contacts and builds relationships with key faculty and staff at target high schools, colleges and universities as well as non-profits and like-minded organizations. This position serves as the marketing point person in the respective SCA regional hubs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with SCA service experience preferred
- Excellent customer service and fearless telephone communication skills
- Ability to speak confidently in public to audiences of various sizes
- Strong data entry and experience in using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Ability to work well independently with only phone and other electronic communication with supervisor
- Strong attention to detail
- Self-motivated with good organizational skills
- Very strong time management skills and the ability and desire to perform multiple and variable tasks
- Must have or willing to obtain Wilderness First Aid certification
- Must successfully complete SCA Leader Training
- Willingness to spend up to between 8-10 weeks per year on the road
- Evidence of multicultural experience and competency a plus
- Excellent communication skills needed
- Valid driver’s license and MVR that meets SCA standards required
- Ability to meet SCA’s criminal background check standards
