Job title - Temporary Project Officer. based in Skelton, Leeds

Salary: £10.66 per hour

BTCV is the UK’s leading practical conservation charity working with people from all sectors of the community in positive action to improve the environment.

Based at BTCV’s Skelton Grange Environment Centre in Leeds, we need a temporary member of staff, able to start as soon as possible, to cover specific tasks whilst the current post holder is absent.

Skelton Grange Environment Centre is an exciting and innovative environmental education centre based in South Leeds. We engage people of all ages with the wonder of the natural world and inspire them make a positive difference to their community and local environment. We run a wide range of environmental education activities and training courses and also offer a variety of volunteering opportunities. The centre itself is an environmentally friendly building set in 10 acres of land, which are managed for wildlife and as an outdoor classroom, where people can learn, play, explores and discover.

We need someone who can step in at short notice to help us co-ordinate and deliver environmental activities to schools, community and family groups, help with funding applications for holiday activities and give general support to our staff & volunteer team.

The ideal candidate will be familiar with Skelton, will be able to start immediately, and will be able to work occasional weekends.

It is anticipated that the hours will be variable depending on what we have coming up – hours will be agreed in advance with the successful applicant but will not amount to more than 21 hours each week.
