Temporary Employment Engagement Officer. based in Blaenau, Gwent

Salary: £ 20,402.76 Per Annum Pro Rata

The Conservation Volunteers is the UK’s leading practical conservation charity working with people from all sectors of the community in positive action to improve the environment.

The Family Employment Initiative is an exciting opportunity for you to be involved in engaging and supporting local people to improve their personal circumstances and local area. The project is a precursor to training and employment, providing a programme of engagement designed to create supported pathways for individuals and families in targeted areas using many different techniques.

The role will invole working with residents, organisations and other agencies within the community. You will engage with local people guiding and supporting them to improve their employment prospects. To succeed you should be experienced in the organising and delivery of employment programmes with a track record of achieving funders’ targets. Experience of inter agency working, excellent communication skills and a genuine desire to “make a difference” would be an advantage.

This post is a fixed term contract until 30th September 2012

12 hours per week.

A full clean or near clean driving licence is essential.
