Description

We are looking for a dynamic, creative and organised assistant political campaigner to join the Greenpeace Political Unit.  You will help us monitor and analyse political opportunities in the UK to help win campaigns. You will also support our campaign teams and colleagues in the political unit to develop and implement political strategies, map out political targets, and build and sustain relationships with politicians. You will work with our network of supporters, volunteers and campaign teams to help them campaign for action to protect our climate, air and oceans.  You will work with politicians from all parties to champion and deliver policies and political change for a green and peaceful world. 

 

The person we are looking for will have experience and knowledge of the UK political scene, and be a great communicator who works well in teams and thrives in a fast-moving environment. 

You will need:

  • Knowledge and interest in politics – particularly of UK domestic political fora
  • Experience of political stakeholder mapping and political lobbying
  • Experience of supporting with the implementation of successful political strategies in association with campaign work
  • Experience of working with Parliamentary processes
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective contacts and relationships with external political actors
  • Ability to communicate effectively and approximately with a wide range of people both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to maintain strong team relationships and open communication when working at speed and under pressure 
  • Experience in setting up and maintaining effective administration and information systems

 

Lastly, and crucially, you will need to demonstrate a genuine passion for Greenpeace’s mission and enthusiasm for supporting our campaigns.
