What is the purpose of the role?
As the Technically Competent Sludge and Energy Compliance Analyst, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with permits for sludge, waste and energy processes. Ensuring that a framework is in place for a technically competent management system and that operational structures and processes are in place and followed. Be a key part of building sludge end to end processes building sustainability and creating value for the business. You will Work closely with the Energy Strategy team to build sustainable business process to achieve demand reduction and Energy targets.
What will the role involve?
Your role will regular site visits to our region wide sludge treatment facilities. Completing Environmental and Quality audits to ensure that we are compliant with legislation and permitting requirements. A key part of this role will be working directly with the operational teams to ensure that they understand Environmental Permit requirements and are operating the sites to a high standard. The role requires the ability to build strong relationships with in the business, producing robust businesses processes with clear accountabilities and compliance reporting tools to be able to monitor and report adherence.
What skills are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with a Practical/ Operational Experience of waste sites with Certificate of technical competences (CoTC) for Sludge Treatment. A degree in Science or Engineering is desirable but not essential.
You will have previous experience of working with management systems and have knowledge of current legislation relating to waste management and environmental permitting gained within the water or waste water sectors or within the broader utilities, process or manufacturing industry sectors.
You will be working with operational colleagues so it is important that you have good inter personal skills and are able to build and maintain good working relationships. You will be required to complete company internal audits to support the ISO9001 and ISO14001 accreditations (previous experience is desirable but not essential as training will be available).
You will develop and implement business processes to ensure compliance with existing and new regulations, and achievement of business plans and regulatory targets. Ensure compliance with these processes and their continual improvement by building reports to show business performance.
A full valid EU driving licence is required as you will need to visit regional sites.
