Location: Southwater, Horsham, West Sussex
Closing date: 20 01 2012
Salary: £29,794 - £31,584 per annum, with an additional technical market supplement of up to £5,000 pa, depending on skills and experience. In addition to the above there will also be a weekend support escalation rota payment of £1,000 per year to the postholder (this is paid monthly as part of salary).

The RSPCA are looking to recruit an experienced technical support manager to sit within the ISSD Services Team at their HQ office in Southwater. The Services Team provide the live IT support to all RSPCA staff across the country in numerous regional centres and offices and at the HQ.

Reporting directly to the IS Services Manager this role will be responsible for the technical third, and some second line support, and will oversee all technical live IT system issues, as well as having a key input into the design and successful transition of new projects and systems.

They will line manage 4 staff plus temporary contractors, with possibly more staff reporting to them in future. To that end they will be an assertive and experienced line manager used to performance managing technical individuals, as well as bringing a deep technical understanding and experience of the core systems used at the RSPCA particularly Directory Services (Active Directory or eDirectory), Windows, Solaris, Linux and thin client technologies.

They will have knowledge and experience of working with large third party IT service providers and of dealing with the interfaces and integration work associated with this.
Experience of migration to Active Directory from Groupwise is very desirable.
They will be a customer focussed, ITIL aware individual, used to working to Problem Management processes, and will undoubtedly understand the concept of providing a ‘service’ through IT.
