CDP is offering an exciting opportunity for somebody with an interest in deforestation, supply chains, and environmental reporting to support CDP’s technical (environmental accounting and reporting) work. 

We are looking for someone who is reliable, efficient and passionate and who takes pride in working to a high standard. The successful applicant will work as part of the technical team, which supports the development of technical standards, information requests, guidance for CDP’s programs, scoring, as well as influencing policy and standard setting. He/She will report to the Director for Technical Reporting.

The position is based in CDP’s London office

Main responsibilites Applicants will be responsible for supporting CDP’s technical work in the area of forests, namely:

  • Scoring company responses and supporting CDP’s scoring efforts as needed;
  • Working together with other teams to develop the annual questionnaire;
  • Producing supporting documentation for companies disclosing to CDP;
  • Inputting questionnaires into CDP’s Online Response System (ORS), CDP’s IT system used by companies to respond;
  • Conducting IT testing in the ORS to ensure the system is ready to go live;
  • Writing and proof reading technical documents; and
  • Supporting the Director for Technical Reporting with other technical projects in the areas of forests, climate change, water and supply chain.

 

Main requirements:

  • Academic and/or professional experience in the area of deforestation and supply chains;
  • Familiarity with CDP’s Forests program;
  • An interest in environmental issues, including forests, climate change and water, environmental data, and non-financial reporting;
  • The ability to learn quickly;
  • The ability to thrive in a dynamic and innovative organisation, with the flexibility to adapt to a changing work environment;
  • Strong prioritisation, time management and organization skills, with an ability to work effectively under pressure;
  • The ability to work independently while aligning work with other team members;
  • The ability to work independently and with limited supervision;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and an excellent standard of written English;
  • The ability to analyse qualitative and quantitative data; and
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint Microsoft (essential) and Access experience (desirable).

 

The successful candidate must be able to work legally in the UK.
