Description |
Wetlands International works globally, regionally and nationally to achieve the conservation and wise use of wetlands, to benefit biodiversity and human well-being. It is the only global NGO dedicated to the conservation and wise use of wetlands. Wetlands International is an independent, not-for-profit, global organisation supported by government and NGO membership from all continents of the world, a specialist expert network and volunteers. We work through a network of regional, country offices and project offices – in the European continent, Africa, South, East and North Asia, Oceania, and Latin America; with our head office in the Netherlands. All our offices contribute to develop and implement our global Strategy and are accountable for performance against the global targets. We are a science-based organisation producing tools and information to assist the development and implementation of relevant policies, conventions and treaties that are required to achieve wetland conservation. We are a source of “best-informed” opinion on key issues affecting wetlands and priority actions for their conservation and wise use, drawing on scientific analyses and our own experience in global and national conservation and natural resource management programmes. In doing this work, we are responsive to the needs expressed by governments, industry sectors, local communities and other stakeholders. Our mission is to sustain and restore wetlands, their resources and biodiversity. To support our work at the national and regional level, Wetlands International Malaysia is seeking a qualified Malaysian with passion and commitment to nature conservation to join our team.
