Tasks and responsibilities
To further the cooperation between the EU and China, EFI is looking for a Technical Officer to support the
implementation of joint activities under the ongoing EU – China BCM. The focus will be on providing
support to the Government, the EU and stakeholders of China.
The Technical Officer’s activities will focus on
? Supporting the EU-China BCM on FLEGT:
o provide support at BCM technical follow-up meetings
o provide technical support in drawing up ToRs/draft contracts and detailed budgets
o work closely with partners in China and FLEGT Asia in planning the implementation of joint
activities identified under the BCM
o coordinate the contractual process and participate in related meetings
o guide, monitor and follow the implementation of assigned contracts, including facilitating the
submission of periodic reports
o provide updates on the status of implementation of contracts/joint activities
o coordinate progressive payments and other remuneration to contracts
? Provide logistical, communications and technical support to events organised, co-organised and/or
supported by FLEGT Asia
? Support the planning and carrying out of missions in China on topics as indicated by Programme
Coordinator and FLEGT Facilitator
