Technical Manager (Data) - CDP London
CDP is seeking a highly motivated, experienced individual with technical experience in corporate climate change accounting and project coordination to join CDP?s technical team. A key part of the role would be to develop the CDP work on climate change data, namely coordinate activities related with the completeness, accuracy and usability of CDP data set.
Key responsibilities
Work with CDP Technical Director to define and implement CDP data stewardship plan related to the systematic analysis of CDP data set in order to ensure its completeness, accuracy, timeliness and overall fit for the purposes intended; Supervise a team of data analysts, responsible for systematic analysis of CDP data set, identification of data quality issues, supporting users in their use of data and estimation of appropriate alternative figures; Supervise CDP modelling activities, in order to estimate GHG emissions of non-responding companies, including leading on relationships with any partners on this activities; Lead and build on relationships with key data users groups; and Any other tasks as deemed appropriate by line manager.
Key requirements
5 years working experience; A degree in engineering, math, physics or computer science desirable; Familiarity with modelling approaches namely in the frame of GHG national inventories, input-output models, econometric models, corporate inventories and/or other modelling approaches; Familiarity with data use and manipulation, namely with packages such as matlab, SPSS or R; Familiarity with GHG inventories with some previous experience in doing them; Familiarity with documenting work, maintain documentation, write reports and establishing procedures; Fluent in spoken and written English Team management experience; Project management experience; Communication skills and ability to interact with a large team, collaborate and share knowledge; and Great attention to detail.
The successful candidate will report to the Technical Director and work closely with several other internal teams in CDP. It will work 5 days per week and be able to travel nationally and internationally as required.
