The primary function of this role is to ensure that the Technical Division of this waste management service company meets the required standards of productivity, cost, delivery performance and customer satisfaction.  To initiate, motivate and manage through the changes necessary to meet agreed objectives.  To provide a stimulating and receptive managerial environment where the contributions and performance of subordinate managers and staff are enhanced and to ensure that a continuous improvement environment is achieved and maintained. 
This entails the management day-to-day of the various teams ensuring customer feedback is positive, and quality and budgetary targets are met. To lead a team whereby repeat/ad hoc project business is routinely gained as a result of the overall performance and level of service of that team and which permits the Company to continue to grow both within the waste industry and other aligned industries
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Formal line management of Liaison Management team including development of divisional system and development of the Liaison Management roles.
• Formal line management of the Olympic site team to deliver continued technical, financial, quality and safety performance. This is also to include management of the company and consultancy interface on this project.
•  To develop systems of work for managing Reporting/desk top works to serve as a template from which to build Reporting/desk top services from.
• To develop new and existing sales organically within the capability and resources of the business and ensure that they are achieved in a formal structure based on contract rather than personal relationships with customers.
• Monitor and check service level expectations are met and that clients are communicated with at an agreed frequency.
• To promote proactively, via the team, existing repeatable core services as a priority over none routine / one off projects.
• Monitor that quotes are produced in a consistent, commercially viable and timely manner by the Liaison Management team as agreed with clients.
• To develop systems in conjunction with other Divisional Heads to promote a team approach whereby the company's best interests are served. Communications and harmonised working relationships between the Divisions to be emphasised.
• To chair weekly team meetings or deputise where appropriate, of the Technical team. The objective of these meetings to promote the sharing of information between the team members. Information to be collated for reporting to the Board meeting monthly.
• To develop / implement and monitor systems for Liaison Management team to enable smooth handover of jobs to the Operations team.
• To develop / implement and monitor systems to enable smooth handover of new business from the Business development team to the Liaison Management team.
• Responsibility for the financial performance of the Technical division, through maximising gross margin on all work/projects.
• To ensure the Board are aware of any major deviations or adverse trends within the company and recommend appropriate courses of remedial action.  Liaise with other Managers if outside influences are contributory to these problems.
• To promote a culture of continuous improvement within the business.
• To continuously aspire to improve the overall productivity and efficiency of company systems and procedures, implementing where appropriate new methods of working.
• To increase performance levels of existing systems, equipment and staff by innovation and motivation.
• To develop waste management industry contacts to strengthen its reputation within the sector.
• Through personal example create a working environment that is receptive to change and innovation.
• To have overall responsibility for Health & Safety, environmental issues within the Technical Division to ensure all statutory legislation is met.
• Have overall responsibility for the Quality and standards of work produced by the Technical department.

Detailed waste experience within the Waste Management sector either for an Operator or Consultancy.
