Technical Director for Climate Change Adaptation

We are currently seeking someone to lead and coordinate our offering in climate change adaptation.  The successful candidate for this post will be expected to perform as a technical specialist, project manager and business developer for this expanding area of work.  Our thorough understanding of the science behind climate change has enabled us to undertake research for Defra and the Environment Agency.  We have also worked on a Climate Change Risk Assessment project on the Humber.  We advise many public bodies in how existing and future flood risks may need to be managed through spatial planning, emergency planning and resilience measures.  Partnership funding recently announced by Defra will also unlock some adaptation thinking and JBA is at the forefront of developing tools to encourage this thinking.

The successful candidate for this post will be required to bid, present and deliver project proposals to a wide range of clients, using the broad technical disciplines available from within JBA and its strategic supply chain.   Report writing and project management will also be required.  We want to convert our excellent scientific and engineering skills into a community and planning focused offering, for which we need a great communicator.
