Technical CDM Project Manager, Beijing

My client is a leading carbon asset management company. They deal with trading of carbon credits – voluntary and mandatory - and investments in emission reduction projects eg. The CDM (Clean Development Mechanism). With offices in Asia, Europe and North America, they deal with a multitude of clients including project owners, project developers, fund managers, investors, industrials and large corporations.

A vacancy has become available for a technical carbon emission reduction project manager based out of Beijing to work on Chinese CDM projects. Working as part of a very well respected development team you will be expected to work autonomously on occasion and therefore will need to have previous experience of working in the technical carbon arena.

Responsibilities include:

• Manage key technical activities associated with carbon brokerage
• Monitoring all CDM projects and ensuring each project is successfully completed
• Working with project partners to prepare project validations and verifications including technical analysis
• To ensure the delivery of high quality CDM validation and verification reports
• To liaise with the DOE (Designated Operational Entity) and other counterparties on details within the PDDs (Project Design Documents)

Skills and qualifications needed:

• Masters degree (MSc or related degree) in environmental science, climate change or a similar discipline
• Experience working on CDM project
• It competent
• Very good understanding of the carbon market and CDM worldwide
• At least 4 years experience in CDM
• Must be able to work and live in China
• Must be fluent in Mandarin and English
