Biosis Pty Ltd, a leader in ecology and heritage consulting, is seeking to appoint a full-time Technical Assistant for 4 months in our Melbourne Office.

Biosis has undertaken many ecology and cultural heritage projects throughout southeast Australia and employs a highly experienced multi-disciplinary team that includes Archaeologists, Aquatic Ecologists, Botanists, GIS Operators and Zoologists. We have offices in Melbourne, Ballarat, Brisbane, Canberra, Sydney, Wangaratta and Wollongong.

Our Melbourne office has a modern open plan working environment and has over 40 highly experienced consulting and support staff. The office is located close to the CBD, easily accessible by public transport and has free parking available.

The Technical Assistant is a key support position for the professional staff across Biosis. The Technical Assistant reports to the Services Manager. Duties include assisting staff with bookings, purchasing, maintenance and organisation of courses, field work, vehicles, facilities and equipment. The preparation and conduct of ecology and cultural heritage field surveys. Assist the Melbourne Office, and all other offices, with general administration duties.

The successful applicant must have a proven track record of being well organised, clear proactive communication, problem solving, thinking on their feet and have an understanding of ecology or cultural heritage. In addition they must have a current driver’s licence (with the ability to drive manual cars) and be competent with computers (including MS Word, MS Excel and MS Access) along with a keen desire to be part of a team of specialist consultants.
