Project Description:

The overall objective is to help preserve the ecosystem of the river basin, the fight against bank erosion and silting of the bed, the development of socioeconomic infrastructure and capacity building of local actors.

The program involves the implementation of the following:

  • Mechanical measures of protection;
  • Biological measures of protection;
  • Accompanying measures;
  • Maintenance and management of infrastructure performed.

The mechanical component protection is essentially fixing the banks of particularly degraded by riprap, riprap masonry, retaining wall or concrete blocks to rubble or installation of gabions. The biological protection of banks includes fixing soils of riverbanks and adjacent land by planting a cover crop tolerant to annual flooding. It can be combined with measures of Water Conservation and Soil (ESC).

Job Description:

The Head of Mission will support the developer in the financial management of funds available KFW including sub-account for the biological protection measures available to the National Directorate of Conservation of Nature (DNCN). He will attend the tender for the annual audit of the funds available.

In conjunction with the Program Coordinator will be responsible for:

  • Organization Program
  • Mechanical measures of bank protection
  • verification and approval. evidence of use submitted as part of the funds available
  • coordination of activities of different agencies

Generally, it will lead and develop:

  • The criteria for selection of applications
  • The program operation
  • The annual plans of work!
  • The Annual Budgets
Qualifications:

University degree (BAC +4 Low), Level Engineer

  • Waters and Forests and / or
  • Civil Engineering / rural and / or
  • Hydrology and / or
  • Environmental Science

General professional experience:
At least 7 years of professional experience and at least 3 years experience as project leader in cooperation with KfW

Specific professional experience:

  • Management of projects and programs KFW
  • Knowledge of concepts of integrated watershed
    development of integrated and participatory planning
  • Knowledge of the Sahelian countries of Mali's preference

Excellent ability to work in French spoken and written
