> Job Description:
Manly is renowned for its special and large range of natural surroundings, and Manly Council is recognised as a Local Government leader in the fields of sustainability and environmental management.

As the Sustainability Team Leader you will ensure that appropriate consideration is given to environment and sustainability issues in Manly while promoting protection and rehabilitation of the environment through policy and planning initiatives based on Ecologically Sustainable Development (ESD).
 
 
> The key responsibilities for this position include:
 
1. Overseeing and guiding team responsibilities of sustainability planning, assessment and reporting.
2. Providing specialist biodiversity conservation management direction, particularly with relation to threatened species including Long-nosed Bandicoots and Little Penguins.
3. Providing specialist environmental assessment and environmental legislation advice by keeping abreast of current legislation concerning environmental matters.
4. Managing a small team and providing ongoing evaluation and monitoring of team performance.
5. Developing, monitoring and managing team budgets.
 
> The key skills required for this role include:
 
1. An appropriate tertiary qualification in Environmental Sciences, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Planning or other appropriate tertiary qualification.
2. Experience in sustainability planning, assessment and reporting, biodiversity conservation, climate change adaptation and carbon mitigation.
3. Highly motivated with excellent communication skills.
4. Supervisory experience that demonstrates leadership skills.
5. A sound knowledge of local government and environmental legislation and their application.
 
 
> What We Offer:
Excellent conditions include a salary range between $67,089 to $73,799 per annum (subject to skills & experience), plus superannuation. Benefits include a 35 hour week and access to a flex system being a nine day fortnight.
