Description

We are looking for an experienced and motivated professional to play a central role to lead in the planning, management and delivery of NCC’s Green Space and heritage asset projects which are key to delivering on Local Nature Recovery in Norfolk.

This exciting and broad ranging role will work with landscape designers, ecologists, local NGO’s and other stakeholders in delivering green spaces across Norfolk.

You will be an experienced project manager with an interest in green spaces facilitating partnerships working to enable new approaches to achieving GI outcomes along with improving access to nature.

An understanding of environmental legislation, green infrastructure principles, nature resource management, countryside access and an interest in heritage are all important to this role.

You will have knowledge and understanding of external funding programmes and enjoy a fast-paced, collaborative team environment and strategic problem-solving. You will lead a team of five delivery officers in effective partnership working to ensure project actions are delivered on time and to budget, to a high standard.

You will also be an advocate for green initiatives in the future planning of the county and will use your project management and negotiation skills to ensure delivery of high-quality projects, leading and planning green activities and outputs, whilst supporting other members of the team. You will be working closely with multi-disciplinary teams, external specialists, staff from external bodies and local stakeholders. The successful candidate will be key to delivering projects resulting from the Local Nature Recovery Strategy work starting now.

Key focus areas:

• Managing the delivery of all or some of the following projects: Wendling Beck Environment Project, Jubilee Trails, Transport Connectivity Corridor Project, County Wildlife Site Review, and the management of NCC’s heritage windmills.

• Working closely with the Greenways Team as part of the Greenways to Greenspaces Programme to deliver the ‘Green Spaces’ aspects of this programme

• Identify and deliver risk assessments, budget monitoring, project evaluation and reporting to the Lead Projects Manager and recommend control measures and actions. Develop and maintain knowledge of the project area to enable informed management decision making

• Present management and design of projects to the Lead Projects Manager and appropriate boards and steering groups regarding progress on matters relating to risk, resource, schedule and budgetary control of projects

• Undertake, write and coordinate briefs, tender documents, data collection and analysis, produce financial and activity reports and prepare claims
