Team Leader (Biodiversity Expert) - “Biodiversity for Life” (B4Life)
Objectives of the role:
The EU is creating a technical assistance facility to support the European Commission in implementing its flagship initiative “Biodiversity for Life” (B4Life). The B4Life initiative aims to coordinate EU biodiversity interventions geared towards halting biodiversity loss globally.
The Team Leader will be based in Brussels. The Team Leader will manage the technical assistance team in order to support the European Commission in implementing its flagship initiative “Biodiversity for Life” (B4Life). The Team Leader will provide and coordinate technical support to EU Delegations and EuropeAid staff in programming, project identification, formulation and implementation of the B4Life initiative. He/She will contribute to drafting terms of reference in relation to the call for proposals and tenders to be launched by the programme. The Team Leader will also facilitate a knowledge hub and sharing activity in the area of biodiversity conservation on international level and within the EU and other partner countries.

Qualifications and skills:
A university degree preferably in natural science or any other relevant background
Fluent in English and preferably French
Excellent skills as team leader, coordinator and communicator (including writing skills)
General professional experience:
At least 10 years of cumulative experience in areas related to programme implementation: ecosystem-services, ecosystem conservation, natural resource management, biodiversity conservation
Specific professional experience:
Experience as team leader on at least one other EU funded assignment, including management of complicated assignments made of various sub-components and a small team of experts
Previous experience in organising call for proposals and selection processes within EU funded projects
