We have created three outstanding opportunities for driven, influential and visionary campaigners and communications specialists to join Greenpeace, the world's most iconic and determined campaigning organisation as Team Leaders in the Programme Department.

Greenpeace is an independent global campaigning organisation that acts to change attitudes and behaviour, in order to protect and conserve the environment and promote peace.

The Programme Department is right at the forefront of our work, developing the strategies, tactics and delivering the communications and public mobilisations that make our campaigns so successful. Our campaigners, communicators and mobilisers investigate and expose environmental abuse, promoting environmentally responsible and socially just solutions, and confronting those with the power to bring about change.

We are currently looking for three exceptional individuals to join us in these pivotal Team Leader roles. You will lead and manage a programme team delivering a Greenpeace campaign, in the UK and globally. You'll lead, develop and encourage your team members to do their best work and to embody and champion Greenpeace values.

In return we can offer you a friendly, fast-paced, immensely rewarding working environment where creativity is encouraged and ideas are supported. In this role you'll manage a campaign and support the Programme Direction team in delivery of the overall Greenpeace programme.

You will also:

  • Lead on global projects as requested by the Programme Director.
  • Identify learning and development opportunities for team members.
  • Prepare and manage the campaign team budget.
  • Provide management, coaching and mentorship to team members
  • Represent the organisation at a senior level, which could include attending political meetings, conducting media work and representing Greenpeace UK.

The successful candidate will be a strong leader with a talent for enabling and motivating others, someone who can be a team player while inspiring change from within. In addition you will have a track record of success in a communications and / or public-facing campaign environment.

As well as having significant experience of leading effective campaigns and communications strategies, you will have:

  • Managed multi-disciplined teams with the range of talents needed to build creative, people powered campaigns.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and diplomatically in face to face meetings, during disagreements and in difficult circumstances.
  • A willingness to work cross-departmentally in a collaborative, mutually supportive way.
  • A commitment to diversity, inclusion, equal opportunities and dignity in the workplace.
  • Experience of managing staff.

Greenpeace stands for positive change through action and everyone who works for us is passionate about what we're trying to achieve. Join us and you'll be part of an action-led, ambitious organisation which prides itself on being an inspiring place to work.
