Description

We are seeking an experienced person to lead in the planning and delivery of Greenways to Green Spaces, MONUMENT and MOBI-MIX projects in Norfolk, renowned for its extensive network of green spaces and coastline.

This exciting and broad ranging role will also lead on delivery of active travel projects within the Greenways team. This includes two EU-funded initiatives:

  • MONUMENT: a trans-national technological and social innovation project supporting improved access to outdoor activities for informal carers of people living with dementia.
  • MOBI-MIX: increasing the uptake of low-carbon transport, collaborating with the private sector on cutting-edge research to pave the way for more shared transport to reduce carbon emissions.

You will be an experienced project manager with an interest in active travel and improved access to nature and culture. You have a background in external funding programmes and enjoy a fast-paced, collaborative team environment and strategic problem-solving. You will lead a team of five delivery officers in effective partnership working to ensure project actions are delivered on time and to budget, to a high standard.

You will also be an advocate for green initiatives in the future planning of the county and will use your project management and negotiation skills to ensure delivery of high-quality projects, leading and planning green activities and outputs, whilst supporting other members of the team.

 Key focus areas:

  • Collaborating closely with a wide range of external partners and stakeholders to deliver externally funded outputs and objectives.
  • Identify risks and issues and recommend control measures and actions. Develop and maintain knowledge of the project area to enable informed management decision-making
  • Managing/leading project delivery involving a multi-disciplinary team, internal organisations, external contractors, staff from external bodies and community representatives.
  • Reviewing and monitoring project progress, liaising and reporting to the Lead Projects Manager, Project Sponsor and Project Board on matters relating to risk, resource, schedule and budgetary control of projects.

If you are passionate about designing and developing a network of multi-functional green space, urban and rural, which can deliver a wide range of environmental and quality of life benefits for local communities, and have the required skills and experience, we would welcome the opportunity to meet you.
