JOB DESCRIPTION

The Systems Applications Developer plays an integral role within the Global IT Business Solutions Team. He/she is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementing key production and engineering systems, as well as supporting and/or modifying existing systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as Project Lead on development of web-based applications in support of key corporate functions and initiatives
  • Performs role of in-house developer/designer of web applications, coding and scripting in a variety of languages and platforms
  • Maintains and enhances existing Web applications and ensures all internal systems are integrated
  • Carries out project planning, business needs analysis, and design analysis in support of Business Solutions initiatives
  • Oversees and completes systems analysis and performs application-testing, as required to ensure functionality, robustness, and reliability
  • Applies knowledge of web application architecture to understand how coding decisions will affect performance and usability of an application
  • Provides day-to-day applications support for Engineering, Production, and CRM systems and databases
  • Creates business requirements documentation, design specifications, technical specifications, and training documents
  • Interacts with users, vendors, and others to best understand business needs and requirements
  • Helps define and implement I.T. procedures and controls
  • Participates in priority and budget setting sessions
  • Functions well with cross-international team members, contract manufacturers, and customers

Experience and Qualifications:

  • B.S. Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems Management
  • 7 years direct programming experience, preferably in a Manufacturing environment
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience on .NET platform using C#, ASP.NET
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with PHP 5 Object Oriented programming
  • Demonstrated experience as cross-platform programmer with Linux and Windows, Shell scripting, Apache, IIS, MySQL, MSSQL, HTML, CSS, SSH and SFTP
  • Wide knowledge of both commercial and open source applications and tools
  • Experience in implementing production, inventory management, supply chain system, order tracking, reporting, engineering data collection and/or MES applications such as Camstar highly preferred
  • Experience in using MS project or similar application for resource planning
  • Proven ability to communicate with and teach non-technical users
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines
  • Proven ability to promptly answer support related email, phone calls and other electronic communications
  • Available as needed during non-business hours to respond to urgent support issues
  • Passion for solar is a plus
