WWF-Australia, the global conservation organisation, is seeking an oustanding fisheries science and management expert to join the Sustainable Food team. 


About the role

The position works with business to influence responsible procurement and responsible production practices, and with government to motivate laws and policies that protect our marine environment


Skills, knowledge and experience

  • Comprehensive knowledge of and experience in the area of fisheries science and management
  • Experience in advocating for and achieving responsible seafood production and/or marine conservation
  • Experience in research, analysis, development and reform of fisheries and aquaculture policy and/or legislation
  • Ability to develop influential networks with a range of stakeholders, who may have different or competing objectives and interests, in government, industry, academia, non-government groups and the community.

Knowledge of voluntary market-based approaches to environmental management (e.g. standards and certification) and experience working with business on environmental issues, risk analysis and management, notably in relation to fisheries and seafood, are desirable.
