POSITION SUMMARY
The Sustainable Development Specialist works with Operating Units (OU) and Regions to develop and leverage strong partner relationships with scientific/research organizations, governments, corporate business sector, community organizations, indigenous groups, national affiliates of international conservation and development organizations, etc.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Sustainable Development Specialist supports and manages the account on corporate partnerships (50%) and corporate practices (50%) to enhance the effective coordination and communication. S/he is responsible for engaging and stewarding relationships with corporates and central government.
Relationship Management Support & Stewardship
Supports and liaises with Sustainable Development Manager on day-to-day coordination and communication related to on-going corporate engagement projects and provincial/local government issues.
Support and maintain relationships on corporate accounts and provincial/local government networks
Monitor and ensure all KPIs, targets, & goals mentioned in LOI, strategy, & work plan are achieved as planned
Ensure all relevant database relating to corporate account management and provincial/local policy issues are maintained
Liaise with internal teams and procedures to get support
Engage with relevant events/issues to advance the relationship with related stakeholders
Provide timely & accurate inputs & data on project/program progress to Sustainable Development Manager to be compiled as project progress report to Indonesia Leadership Team
Risk Review Management
Manage & mitigate risks related to on-going corporate engagement works and provincial/local policy issues related to projects.
The Sustainable Development Specialist is based in Samarinda, East Kalimantan with frequent travel to Jakarta and reports to the Sustainable Development Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE
May supervise administrative and professional staff with responsibility for performance management, training and development.
Responsibility and accountability for meeting departmental strategic goals and objectives.
Overall responsibility for financial management of program, including setting goals, analyzing results, and taking corrective action.
Makes strategic decisions based on analysis, experience and judgment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree and 4 years’ experience in corporate engagement, government relations or equivalent.
Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
Experience in designing, implementing and directing multiple complex projects and ensuring program accountability.
Communications experience including preparing and presenting project proposals, and developing written communications.
Experience negotiating with other agencies, companies, private parties or related entities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master’s degree may be preferred.
Knowledge management on relevant local and global issues/trends (Green Growth & Blue Growth) is required.
Relationship management skills are required.
Experience in negotiating with corporates, provincial/local government or related stakeholders.
Experience in designing, implementing and directing multiple complex projects and ensuring program accountability
Working knowledge of current trends in relevant discipline.
Outstanding written and oral communication, negotiating and organizational skills.
Understanding of and relevant experience in the culture of the country/region.
Demonstrated knowledge of the functional needs and practices of the pertinent region.
Ability to make sound decisions based on analysis, consultation with others, experience, and judgment.
