Sustainable Development Manager plays a key role in the development and implementation of one or more strategies to achieve the Conservancy’s goals through interaction with governments, multilateral agencies, and/or the corporate sector.
 

 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
 

The Sustainable Development Manager supports and manages the account on corporate partnerships (50%) and corporate practices (50%) to enhance the effective coordination and communication and is the point of contact to ensure good coordination and alignment.  S/he oversees the implementation of these corporate partnerships and practices.  S/he is responsible for engaging and stewarding relationships with corporates and central government as well as for the success of corporate engagement cycle.

 Relationship Management Support & Stewardship

Supports and stewards on-going corporate account relationships and national government agenda on related issues/trends. Continually works to enhance the effective coordination and communication among related stakeholders.

  • Build and maintain relationships on key corporate accounts and national government networks
  • Monitor and ensure all KPIs, targets, & goals mentioned in LOI, strategy, & work plan are achieved as planned
  • Ensure all relevant database relating to corporate account management and national policy issues are maintained
  • Work closely with internal teams and procedures to get support and align with corporate engagement, program, marketing communication and national policy team
  • Engage with relevant events/issues to support the relationship with related stakeholders
  • Provide timely & accurate progress report to TNC’s relevant Indonesia Leadership Team members

Risk Review Management

  • Manage & mitigate risks related to on-going corporate engagement works and national policy issues related to projects.
  • Develop learning networks, trainings and resources to enhance organization’s capacity and knowledge on corporate engagement and national policy trends.
  • Provide updates on current corporate practice and environmental issues to oversee risks. 

The Sustainable Development Manager is based in Jakarta and reports to the Corporate Engagement Associate Director.
 

 
RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE
 
  • May supervise administrative and professional staff with responsibility for performance management, training and development.
  • Applies a diversified knowledge of practices to support Conservancy strategies.
  • Works collaboratively within a cross-functional interdisciplinary team.
  • Develops relationships and works effectively with corporate, government, community, and non-governmental organization partners.
  • Acts independently within broad program goals.
  • Develops and implements multi-year fundraising strategies, and goals.
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in political science, environmental policy, management or other relevant field and 5 years of government relations or corporate sector experience, or equivalent combination education/experience. 
  • Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
  • Analytical and project management experience. Experience in developing and implementing complex projects in an unstructured environment.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience with communication and presentation skills
  • Experience in negotiating with corporates, national government or related stakeholders.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree may be preferred.
  • Knowledge management on relevant local and global issues/trends (Green Growth & Blue Growth) are required.
  • Relationship management skills are required.
  • Experience in the field of sustainable development and/or environmental sustainability in areas relevant to this position
  • Experience of working with partnerships.
  • Experience presenting to and communicating with management-level individuals within the corporate sector.  Excellent presentation skills.
  • Excellent team player with experience working in multi-disciplinary groups, using influence and interpersonal skills, listening, diplomacy and tact to build strong relationships with governments, corporations, partners, donors, volunteers, and all levels of staff.
  • Experience in report writing
  • Outstanding written and oral communication, negotiating and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge management on relevant local and global issues/trends (Green Growth & Blue Growth) are required.
  • Relationship management skills are required.
