Job Purpose
Global agriculture faces an unprecedented challenge. In less than a generation - by 2030 - the global population will reach 8.3bn people, creating global demand for 50% more food, 30% more water, and 50% more energy. At the same time, there are significant constraints to increasing future food supply including water stress, land availability, climate change and competition between food, feed, and fuel.

Agriculture will be the critical site of struggle over the world's food supply over the next decades, as we struggle to develop food production systems that are climate resilient, environmentally sustainable, able to meet demand and offer poor women and men farmers routes out of poverty. This crucial role will lead on public policy and lobby work on sustainable agriculture, working with campaigners and media staff to ensure Oxfam is a leading agent for change in the development of a just, equitable and sustainable food system. They will also work closely with policy advisers on climate change, food justice and emergency food security to deliver integrated policy approaches and advocacy strategies.
