The National Center for Appropriate Technology (NCAT) is a private non-profit corporation that works to promote sustainable technologies and systems, especially for the benefit of economically disadvantaged individuals and communities. NCAT is seeking a Sustainable Agriculture Intake Specialist to work in our Butte, MT office.

Sustainable Agriculture Intake Specialist

This is an excellent opportunity for the ideal candidate with a combination of education and/or experience in sustainable agriculture and customer service. The position requires the Equivalency of a BS degree in Sustainable Agriculture practices or a related field plus two-three years of related experience or training. A background of working for and with non-profit organizations would be useful.

Responsibilities:

The intake specialist answers phone calls and responds to email inquiries from farmers and ranchers throughout the U.S. Responds as appropriate or forwards to sustainable agriculture specialists for action. Responsible for quality control and timeliness of all responses. Manages client database. Assists in writing and editing publications and grants. The successful candidate will need to be an advocate of sustainable and organic agriculture, be personable, professional and knowledgeable about sustainable agriculture issues. Must be organized and efficient with excellent writing and comprehension skills.

Salary and Benefits:

This is a full-time hourly position with a starting salary range of $25,000 to $35,000 depending on skills, qualifications, and experience. Benefits include paid vacation and holidays, a health insurance plan, a cafeteria plan, a 401(k) plan and a pleasant office environment in which to work.
