This post will lead the Authority's work on sustainability, carbon reduction and climate change. As a low-lying county with a soft coastline and a growing population, Norfolk is particularly vulnerable to the impacts of a changing climate. You will lead a small team dedicated to working across the community to mitigate and adapt to climate change as well ensuring new opportunities presented are explored and pursued. Embedding sustainability across the Authority's work and ensuring carbon reduction in line with our requirements under the Local Government Performance Framework and Local Area Agreement are also key functions of this role.
We are looking for a dynamic, innovative and influential professional with an appropriate degree and post graduate qualification. You will understand the strategic issues and challenges facing local government in general and in particular those relating to sustainability and climate change
