We are seeking a bright, motivated and well-rounded Sustainability Senior Consultant to join our office in Annapolis, MD.
ERM’s Sustainability & Climate Change practice helps industrial clients around the world achieve their sustainability objectives and manage their sustainability risks. We deliver a wide range of services related to environmental, economic and social issues, including strategy development, policies and management systems, metrics and goal setting, reporting and communications, third-party verification and assurance, life cycle management, and stakeholder engagement. We help develop and implement sustainability programs across a broad range of industry sectors for global companies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify new business opportunities.
- Assist in marketing and selling sustainability projects, with a personal sales goal starting at $500,000
- Manage projects of local and international project teams, including report preparation and delivery, proposal preparation, project scoping and client liaison.
- Manage and work on projects relating to sustainability, including strategy development, policies and management systems, metrics and goal setting, reporting and communications, third-party verification and assurance, life cycle management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Communicating with clients, technical resources, and team members to ensure the quality of deliverables and control budget, schedule, and scope.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- University degree in a relevant field, e.g., sustainability, environmental sciences, engineering, economics, natural sciences, etc.
- 10- 15 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong interest in sustainability issues and motivation for continued learning.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Ability to work independently and with a team to accomplish complex tasks.
- Flexibility to handle multiple assignments while meeting strict deadlines.
- Familiarity with standard office software applications, such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in helping large corporations manage sustainability issues, particularly in the oil & gas, mining, and power sectors.
- Demonstrated experience with international Sustainability Standards such as ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, the Global Reporting Initiative, Equator Principles, UN Global Compact, etc.
- Proven record of accomplishment in selling sustainability services.
- Willingness to travel and spend time out of the office.
