StudentForce for Sustainability is a national sustainability and educational charity, which has been in operation since 1996. This post is within the Graduate Resource team, the charity’s longest established project. Graduate Resource promotes sustainable development by recruiting, training and supporting graduates on projects. Our projects provide paid work from 3 to 12 months in all aspects of sustainable development. StudentForce is based in the East Midlands and places over 80 graduates a year on valuable projects nationwide. The aims of the charity are to enable young people and graduates to learn, develop, work and volunteer with people in the workplace and wider community. This also boosts their own futures as well as supoprting the local economy, community and environment.


The Sustainability Project Co-ordinator will develop professionally and personally through this twelve month position. The post-holder will have access to the same workshops, learning resources and opportunities as the project workers we place. The post will be reviewed after 12 months with an eye towards possible extension and development.


The position will start with a period of induction and familiarisation with the role. This will include setting up sustainability projects, understanding the organsiation, assisting with our communications and essentially, the recruitment, training and support of graduates.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed graduate with who can increase our number of projects an interest in social media, communications and campaigns to join our busy team to help StudentForce help more graduates be placed around the country, and in doing so, help improve sustainability work across all sectors. There is a real opportunity for the post-holder to help shape the dynamic vision of the charity as it seeks to explore more ways in which we can meet our aims. During the next year there will be a number of exciting changes and projects to help develop, implement and promote to the world!

Objective

Working in a small team the co-ordinator will help StudentForce meet and exceed its targets of creating and placing graduates onto work placements through selling the Graduate Resource recruitment and support package to a wide range of clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the resulting Project Work that practices and promotes sustainability with local authorities, businesses, voluntary and community organisations. This will be achieved through marketing to potential clients and graduates, recruiting and supporting graduate Project Workers, reviewing and evaluating the project work.
