Green Business UK manage a portfolio of sustainability improvement projects across a broad range of sectors. As well as operating the world leading Green Tourism Award with over 2,500 members, we support businesses and public sector organisations of all sizes to enhance their commitment to sustainability and celebrate their impacts.

The Sustainability Product Manager is a key senior appointment for Green Business UK. You will lead the development and implementation of our projects and products. You will consistently enhance the skills of the team and support the delivery of our services to clients.

The successful candidate will possess the following skills/ experience & attributes:

Client Management and Development

  1. Inspires confidence with current clients, building and maintaining strong relationships
  2. Communicates with authority, is articulate and elegant in challenging circumstances
  3. Can respond to and implement a brief from Senior Management/present and win at board level

Project Management

  1. Able to research and scope a project from the outset, defining KPIs and clearly articulating the requirements for success.
  2. Able to create a project plan and manage the project throughout its evolution, delivering it on time within budget.
  3. Using the project planning process to coordinate and manage internal /external team outputs, including managing and communication with the Executive Board of Green Tourism.
  4. Maintain strong project management disciplines across the business.

Sustainability Knowledge & Experience

  1. Excellent knowledge and experience or aptitude in the field of sustainability.
  2. A commitment to constantly develop their own and the team’s sustainability knowledge and experience.

Product Development

  1. Experience of product development, with the ability to identify how products should be evolved or new products to be introduced.

Commercially Astute and Financially Aware

  1. Experience, background and mindset to view all business activities commercially, good negotiation skills with supply chain, business partners and clients.

Staff Management

  1. Experience or ability to manage a small team with evidence of success or aptitude
  2. Demonstrable experience in overseeing projects and developments ensuring that projects are delivered on time and on budget
  3. Ability or aptitude to support and mentor the internal team in new techniques, new skills, and develop their professional expertise.

Attitude & Drive

  1. Ambitious, Confident, and enthusiastic about the challenges of sustainable business and driven to achieve a range of objectives which have been set by the board (financial, brand, innovation).

Authoritative Reporting

  1. Able to structure and prepare an authoritative strategic report to a high technical standard taking into consideration the client’s context, the broader objectives of the business and its KPIs, maintaining GBUK credibility, and clearly articulating client successes and recommendations.
